During my time as the Housing and Community Development Department Director, my staff drafted and worked on the passage of the resolution involving the Old Pecos Trail Scenic Corridor. This work needs to be followed up on with a strong neighborhood engagement process while bringing a lens to best practices in planning and an understanding of the role Old Pecos Trail plays as a gateway into Santa Fe.

All planning work should also be done in the context of an update to the General Plan and the future land use map, so that we have an integrated understanding of different areas of our city and an eye to making our community a place for everyone. We should streamline, clarify, and strengthen our development approval processes and update our methods for neighborhood engagement to have stronger community input in every area of the city.
